About Mountain Forum E-conferences
Mountain Forum has operated thematic electronic conferences since 1996. The methodology has been refined after each e-conference. While the objectives of e-conferences can vary, the following list may provide an indication of what an e-conference can be used effectively for.
Share in-depth information and experiences related to the e-conference theme;
Identify lessons learned and promising strategies, especially those which are specific to mountain environments;
Build relationships, support, and capacity for action within the mountain community;
Catalyse community and grassroots level action;
Support mountain agenda advocacy;
Provide recommendations and case study summaries in a form useful to field practitioners and policy- and decision-makers (written conference report).
Mountain Forum provides e-conference services to organisational members as well as to others who may need this specialised service. Over the last years, Mountain Forum has carried out e-conferences at both global and regional levels for several organisations, including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Mountain Partnership, The Mountain Institute, and the Center for International Environmental Law amongst others.
